II. How often do I train in Class?  You will be given a recommendation of riding in Sport Camp for 5 days a week, or Expert Camp for 6 days a week, depending on the outcome of your wattage test and your prior cycling experience.  Corresponding weight workouts are also given monthly.  Many campers choose to ride only 3 to 4 days per week for triathlon training or because of traveling schedules.  Maximum benefit can be achieved with 5 to 6 rides per week.

III.               Do I have to Purchase all Three Phases?  Yes.  Tuition for members is $339.  Tuition for non-members is $419.  If you are not a member, and would like to access the other facilities of our club during camping months, there is a temporary membership option available for $419 in tuition, PLUS $100 upfront membership fee and $25 per month for the months from November through March.

Smith.d.       Two 2-1/2 hour training and nutrition seminar.e.       Discounted testing within 30 days after end of camp available.

V.            What kind of cleats do I need?  We use Schwinn/Johnny G Spinners with Shimano SPD pedals.  Tell any bike shop that you are riding Schwinn Spin bikes and they will know which Shimano and Wellgo cleats will work with these pedals.

VI.          Can I bring my own pedals?  We apologize, but no.  The damage to the threads is overwhelming, plus there isn’t time both before and after class to switch the pedals out.

VII.               Can I bring my own saddle?   Yes, but you will need a saddle ‘slider’ which are available for sale online or at several bike stores.  If you want to ride with your own saddle, please email blaird@sportsmallgroup.com for purchase information.  There are two different models and Brian can give you the correct information.  We have new bikes therefore, we recommend waiting to buy a slider saddle until you have ridden teh bikes and seen the actual slike that you wil need to purchase.  the saddles on the new bikes are a big improvement of the old ones!

VIII.                 If I’m a non-member, how do I gain entry into the Sports Mall?  Please arrive at least 20 minutes early to your first class.  Your name will be on a roster at the front desk if you have paid your tuition and have registered.  Give the front desk your name, and ask them to for a keychain barcode.  This barcode will give you access 1 hour prior to the beginning of each Camp class and expires on March 21, 2009.  To gain entry during all business hours and to enjoy full membership rights and pricing for fee-based programs, you may purchase a temporary membership for $100, plus $25 per month beginning November 1st through March 21st, 2009.

IX.      How do I get my wattage test information?  At the first day of class, there will be two cards for you with your heart rate testing information on them.  One is for your own use outside the Sports Mall, and the other one stays in the Spinning Room for the use of you and the coaches during class.  Please leave your heart rate card in the spin room.
